ONE MAJOR WAY OF BEING RESPONSIVE TO YOUR ABILITY

By PRAISE AKOBO It's possible you may or may not have thought of 'responsibility' as a 'response to ability'. So, let's roll. .. .. .. Have you checked, how that, when you were given a task, be it in school, church, office, firm or even that which you gave yourself? Did you see that, somehow, you felt lackadaisical at first but decided to take the bull by its horn? Now, the ability to do that was resident within, but came alive when you chose to act, this is why you hear words like UNTIL YOU GET STARTED, YOU CAN NOT START. .. .. .. I discovered that I understood something's about myself when I was given a responsibility in an N.G.O and accepted it. Just like you, I hesitated but until today, that has been a major factor in my growth. My NETWORK grew as well my NET WORTH. Lets say for instance, you are asked to be part of an Editorial Committee, you finally accepted, then along the line, you discovered

DISCIPLINE ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH

By GRACE A. JOHN-UGWUANYA Have you wondered why it is very easy to set goals in a new year but before the first quarter runs out, we don't commit ourselves to those goals? The reason is that we rely more on only discipline without putting other factors in place that will assist in achieving our goals. Failure becomes inevitable if we rely on only discipline while still being in an environment that favours our old habits. A smoker who desires to quit cannot always be in the company of smokers and exercise discipline. The temptation is very high with an increased attraction to pick up a cigarette. To achieve your goals, you need to create an enabling environment that makes it easy for you to succeed. To avoid wasting your mental energy over putting off task, always complete tasks as they come up. Do you think discipline alone will help? To your success, Grace A. John-Ugwuanya We will appreciate your feedback after readi

The best you can do for your children is LIVING THE LIFE YOU WANT THEM TO LIVE.

By ESTHER BEST NWACHUKWU The best you can do for your children is LIVING THE LIFE YOU WANT THEM TO LIVE. No long story... The picture explains it better. This is a picture of my mum and myself speaking during the POSH Amazon conference last month. She came to the conference from a speaking engagement and stayed with us all through. We learnt so much from her wealth of knowledge and experience. Momma is a speaker and her daughter has no choice but to be a speaker also. Infact, two of her children are speakers in their domains. I grew up following mum sometimes for evangelism and talks when she's invited. I used to go with her just to cheer her up. I grew up being shy including when I'm giving recitation in Church. I will literally be looking up to avoid eye contact with people. Gradually, I started picking up... I preached alone for the first time when I was 10 and that was to an adult. I was just muttering those words anyhow they were coming. Fast forward

ONE THING...

By AKINKUNMI AKINLADE Some will lead silent lives; go to Dubai and the Bahamas and no one will know about it. Some others will lead loud lives: go to Elegushi beach in Lagos and the whole world must hear. Actually, none of these actions is right or wrong. Their responses may be a reflection of their stories. Meet Jasmine, a young lady born into affluence, raised in Banana Island, who jets out of Naija regularly for holidays. Rumours have it that she has been to over twenty countries already. Sorry but another vacation in Dubai or the Bahamas means little or nothing to her. So she’s quiet about it. No qualms. No stress. No noise. It’s how she rolls. Now, let us meet Barakat, another wonderful lady. She was raised in the village, where everything was black and white. She grew up on efo riro (vegetables), the bland, watery and salty type. To her, meat and fish were luxury products, served exclusively during festivities. Barakat was the first to avoid getting im
DO YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE ENDLESS BLISS AND FIND LASTING FULFILMENT?  Every individual born into this world is endowed with at least a gift, with which to achieve greatness in life. It is a great pity that so many people have not yet discovered or maximised their gifts- their source of wealth, impact and influence. And unless they discover their gifts, they can't rule their world. Discover your gift(s) and rule your world. Your gift is your source of wealth. Unravel it early while you still have breath because it is your primary source of influence and affluence in life. Creativity is an asset entrusted to you as a special gift to benefit humanity with. If truly you are genuinely created in the image and likeness of God that automatically gives you the assurance of possessing creative and innovative power both to invent and to discover new and profound ways of doing things.  On this note we all @ SCHOOL OF PURPOSE DISCOVERY INTERNATIONAL have brought the FABULOUS OFFER
STOP THOSE SYNDROMES Olapurpose James Asu In 2005 when I was still working with Landover Aviation Company at Ikeja in Lagos as an Office Assistant and later to Administrative Officer I wrote a note which captured the above title.  Many people are not making headway or progress in life because they've believed in the possibility and reality of those Syndromes. And nurturing them will kill dreams faster and stand as impediments to arriving at one's God-given and ordained destiny. The more you allow them to occupy your mental faculty, the more they incapacitate your creative ability and innovative capacity.  When I was much younger, those Syndromes were fully operating in my life at full force because I gave them the permission and failed to make use of my power of choice but rather lived on every piece of advice of people without sieving them and holding on to the healthy ones and leaving the unhealthy ones. Most times whenever I tried to do any activities that I
WE DON'T DO NORMAL ANYMORE Nri Chinenye Audrey. It has been overwhelming, overwhelmingly exhausting. With every second of exhaustion died the dream and the promise to stay true to myself To be relevant To live and answer to my calling That voice within slowly becoming stifled as I gradually eased into the oblivion where I do not need to work my mind of creativity Where I become normal, regular And my purpose and calling to life, dead... Somewhere, somewhere within, the voice cried My conscience cried out powerfully loud in its small voice to remind me of our pact, that... WE DON'T DO NORMAL ANYMORE. And I awakened.. . . . What is your dream? What challenges are you going through that has made you so weary to the point of forfeiting your dreams? What is that thing that is causing you great distractions? The road to achieving much in life comes with many obstacles. Sometimes you get distracted, confused, overwhelmed, weary from failing too many a time. Whil
